Relay Walk 2024

By participating in this walk, you help us to draw attention to the devastating impact of road crashes while honoring the memories of victims.

On 17th November 2024, the World will pause for a moment to remember 1.35 million people killed in road crashes every year and 4,534 in Uganda. More than half of all road traffic deaths in Uganda are among vulnerable road users: pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists, the majority aged 5-29 years.

All you need to know about the Relay walk.

PREPARATION AND TRAINING

You will need to prepare suitably in order to have a fulfilling walk. This includes practicing long distance walking (between 30km to 40km) at least once a fortnight, and short distance walking (between 8km to 15km) twice a week.

TEAMS THAT CAN PARTICIPATE

The walk of 60km can be done by three categories of teams. Category One consists of a team of 6 people, each of whom will walk 10km. Category Two consists of a team of 3 people each of whom will walk 20km. Category Three consists of a “One Man or Woman” army walking the entire 60km.
