Day Four: Curious case of Joe walker

Today I missed my training. No I am not the lazy type. I just felt low on energy and actually fought so hard to leave my training kit behind when I left home in the morning. Look, I didn’t sleep well, been battling what Dr. Kasenene calls Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and my body has been working overtime to cleanse itself for the last four days. I the

ought pushing it for a hard training day wouldn’t be a wise move. So I visited the good doctor and on top of many things, we had a look at my numbers and also worked out my diet for the Kampala-to-Mbale journey. My body seems to be aging in reverse by God’s grace; last year my body age was 28 years old, this year it’s at 27. My height was 168cm and now stands at 170cm, my body fat was at 14, now it’s 10.8.

That’s all exciting! As I was checking out of the doctor’s room, I bumped into my first workmates at Monitor FM, Susan Ayat and Rachel Akidi now with the African Development Bank and BBC respectively. It was an exciting moment and I am grateful to the ladies their kind words and silent support to #JoeWalker. I look forward to the loud version. Just take those steps regularly and consistently.
